In 1928 a tent crusade was conducted on Central Road in Kencot by Elder W.H. Hurden. At the end of the crusade, services were held in the tent. Within a few weeks land at the corner of Grove and Kew Road was rented and the tent moved to that location. The tent was soon replaced by a tabernacle. The membership was by then 50. With the increase in membership, a larger building was necessary, but the spot was not large enough to accommodate at larger structure. The land was consequently sold and premises at 12 Osbourne Road purchased. The conference had also purchased. the property at 10 Osbourne Road on which was a building which housed the Kingsway High School. Kencot Church services were held in the main hall of the school.

In 1948 a crusade was conducted by Dr. Glen Mellard of the United States, at the Half Way Tree Park. On June 27, 1948, fifty candidates were baptized. These members were added to the membership of the Kencot Church. At the end of the crusade the tent was moved to Osbourne Road. It was however, needed for another crusade and services were once more held in the school, and continued to be held there while construction of the church began. When the building had reached the stage where the members could be comfortably accommodated, services were held there and continued till its completion.

Our mission is to proclaim to all persons within its region, the everlasting gospel in the context of the Three Angels messages of Revelation 14:6-12, leading them to accept Jesus as their personal Saviour, uniting them with His Remnant Church, nurturing them in preparation for His soon return, and training them to disciple others.

The foundation was started by a Brother James, but because of certain problems, construction was halted for a while. The building was completed by Brother R.S. Roberts, contractor-builder of the firm of Strachan and Mills. His services were voluntary. Most of the material was donated and construction done mostly on Sundays, evenings, and holidays through the voluntary effort of the members.

The foundation was laid in 1948, during the administration of Pastor A. C. Stockhausen. The building was dedicated in 1954 during the administration of Pastor W. U. Campbell.

On Friday, June 7, 1985, the building was partially destroyed by fire of unknown origin. All the furniture in the sanctuary was saved by the quick action of the people of the community,

The ground-breaking ceremony for a new church building was held on September 28, 1986. Taking part in the ceremony were His Excellency, Michael Sotirhos, Ambassador for the United States, Pastor P. Hosten, President of the East Jamaica Conference, Pastor M.E. Weir, Secretary of the West Indies Union, Pastor H. L. Walton, Pastor of Kencot Church and Pastor M.E.
